You had me at HELLO with Marc Broussard. What a find! And the Seagulls--the comments on the YouTube video are worth the visit alone (plus the music, of course). One Appalachian homeboy approved everything they did, including riding up on the mower. LOLOLOL!

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Marc Broussard is only in his early 40’s so I hope we hear a lot more from him! And the crazy algorithm popped the Seagulls in from of me and I never looked back HA! Love me a man who can play the spoons. LOL

I had never heard of any of these bands. I thoroughly enjoyed Steve’n’Seagulls. They were fun! Marc Broussard was very entertaining, I liked the beat and the diversity in the group. Us3 was hard to understand for me, I think my ears are too old.

Nah....your ears arent too old...that the way it is! But the rhythm is sure good! 🀣🀣 Jazz is a funky, fun thing!

I feel like I'm getting you to listen to new things...and I'm so glad you're enjoying some of it! Love ya!!!!πŸ’™πŸ’™

Oh em gee! I've been wondering about that version of Cantaloop forever! I heard it when it first came out and even bought the record (which got lost in a flood). Then I forgot who did it and even the name of the song. You are the goddess of music! I also didn't know that Herbie Hancock did the original. I ALSO never saw the video. I love that video. I love watching musicians melt into their music. Thanks!

My Philly pal introduced me to this version…I just loved it too! Thanks Charles…I just love music and I’m glad you liked this!

And now, to get through the week. 😳 I wonder whats in store???

Charles Bastille's avatar

Loved it, thanks again. Saved it to my primary YouTube music video list. :-)

Steve n Seagulls…..πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I was like, What IS this? But when someone is playing a washboard, I stop to see whats going on! And Broussard is on my workout playlist…he’s got something out with Joe Bonamassa I need to dig up.

Anyway… it’s a good positive start to what is sure to be another hell week in America!

Bop along and thank you for being here! πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

Susan where you dig these gems up Thunderstruck like I’ve never heard it played. So creative the banjo, spoons, wow nice pick 😊.

Thanks…and I have no idea…the YouTube algorithm follows me around! πŸ˜‚ The guy with the spoons, tho. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ I loved it!

This will give us a positive foundation to meet the hell we’re sure to encounter this week. Hang in there, friend!

"Herbie is 86 years old, living in Chicago, and is simply a master of the trumpet."

No, he plays keyboards...

Charles Austin's avatar

Yeah, THAT Herbie!πŸ˜‚ I loved Steve n' Seagulls. (Rock and Roll spoons!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚) Mark Brousard is an excellent blues man. I've heard that mix of Canaloupin on WCBE. There's a DJ who is liable to play just about anything. Good tunes today. Have a wonderful Monday.πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜˜

Susan Niemann's avatar

Thats my kinda DJ! YES! Play anything and everything! It is hot as blazes here so be safe in the heat! πŸ˜˜πŸ’™πŸ’™

(I’ve been the queen of typos, lately! Sorry)

Susan Niemann's avatar

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ OF COURSE he does. What is wrong with me! I’ll get this fixed…I’m getting my musicians all mixed up. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Thanks David!

He HAS played with some good trumpet players like Miles Davis and Freddie Hubbard over the course of his career, but he's always been a keyboard player. He went electric alongside Miles, and there's no such thing as an electric trumpet...

Freddie Hubbard :-)

David Perlmutter's avatar

One of the more underrated players of his instrument.

I'm not a jazz expert at all, but for some reason I'm familiar with him. Maybe because my sister played the cornet.
