Wonderful, just wonderful. I was smiling all the way through and then I saw the picture of Nellie and started beaming when I read her words.

Great, Susan. Just great.

Thanks! I needed that!

Thanks, Dana... that woman saved my life in countless ways. SO lucky to have had her influence. And honestly? I've had enough of America's bullshit. I can't keep living like this, anxious and disgusted half the time! 😂 Gotta refocus. That journal is getting a workout, by the way! 🥰 THANK YOU for reading.

I LOVE this. And I love this for YOU!

When I got let go from my first, and last, full time job after 20+ years, after finally emerging from under the proverbial covers (which, TBH, took a couple a years with a pandemic sprinkled in the mix) I declared that I was now “CEO of ME.”

Thankfully I saved for rainy days, have a great support system in friends and family, and found THIS community that I’d be devastated without. I look for familiar names in your posts and others and smile upon recognition. I say out loud “yessss!” when something is written that captures my heart.

And then — meeting a new friend in real life who feels very much like an old friend — well, that’s just a chef’s kiss beyond my imagination!

See you soon, my friend! XOXO🩷

You got it right Susan. Self care is definitely not selfish..without self care I’d have jumped off a bridge a long time ago. And I hear you about the 7 decades OUCH! That one really hurt me too.

But, we ain’t dead yet! Glad we’re here together! ✌️

I love this. This best relationship is the one you can have is with yourself. I'm learning how to be my own best friend. I've always tried to teach my girls to trust their own instincts first. Because our instincts are always right. I believe in earned rights. And you certainly have earned yours. You have one of the most generous spirits I've ever experienced in quite sometime. I appreciate that about you. Your curiosity about life is contagious.

I'm grieving everyday over what's happening. Yesterday sucked. I felt miserable and told myself to stop reading. But I can't look away. Fortunately, I have my grandson to keep me smiling. Then I cry. How I'm I going to protect him from hatred from those who will judge him because of the color of his skin? All I can do is take my power back and fight. And I will fight. I just have to remember to breathe. Like he told me today, "Just breathe Nay Nay, watch me do it." He's pretty smart for 5 yrs old. I love you. Thank you so much for just being you and letting me be me. 😘😘 For Christ sakes, fuck 'em if they can't take a joke. 😁 ❤️❤️❤️

"Just breathe Nay Nay, watch me do it." BE STILL MY HEART! Thats the sweetest thing.

Every day is worse than the one before it. JFC- I've sort of reached a final point now... I dont want to keep going like this. And I know I'll be doing it alone. And thats got to be OK.

Curiosity about life? They say curiosity killed the cat, though. 😂😂 I guess I am curious... nows the time! Before that old f*ck blows the world to shit!

LOVE YA LADY! 🥰🥰

Your never alone, well, in spirit anyway. You got too many of us here that love you. We'll be OK. Just outta fucking spite!!

He's pretty adorable. God, I love him. Both my grandbabies. They give me hope when I'm feeling hopeless about all our futures. When we're being governed by pedophiles and malignant narcissists psychopaths that dig sadism. 👌 Wake me when this is over. JFC!!!

I agree with you 100%! I have been doing a good amount of self care for myself the past six months. Last week I did receive an invitation to my 45th year high school reunion(class of 1980) and I threw it in the trash. I’m not planning to attend that event because majority of the people who will attend are supporters of the 🍊clown. I’m not wasting my time with them. Btw, speaking of the Rose Garden. President Nixon’s daughter was married in the Rose Garden in 1971. It was a huge wedding and it was televised. I watched it. I was 10 years old.

You know what, Richard? I went to ONE High School reunion...I think it was a 5 year one...and I've never gone to another one. Not such great memories for me during that time of my life.

Thats so cool you remember that wedding! The rose garden was such a precious piece of history ... and now it's gone. That really got to me. I just think we have to safeguard ourselves from the tragedy unfolding in our country. So let's take care of ourselves! ✌️

Well, I attended my 10th year, 25th year and 30th year reunions. I grew up in a small rural town in Michigan and it has always been a staunch GOP conservative town. The last time I visited that town was mid summer 2019.

I get it! Tonight I was thinking: the first 24 years of my life I was under the thumb of my abusive mother; the next 46 years of my life was with a toxic narcissistic abusive husband; the last quarter of my life is for ME. My mother lived to be 100!! I plan to make my last years all MINE!

Your health can take a hit at anytime, no matter your age, no matter your health, as I found out. So keep getting out there while you can.

As for relationships, the best ones happen organically when we least try, mostly (nothing is always true).

If you ever miss mansplaining, I've got a whole lineup of it on my Substack! I just did a little just now!

You're the only one in charge of your happiness. That's a good attitude. To tell you the truth, there is less and less that makes me happy now. Therefore, less rationale to continue. It's not fair for me to use up the space and oxygen of others more useful. I've come up short, and deserve to pay the price for that. I'm in a Hell of a rut, and I don't see any way out. Thank you for putting up with my sorry ass.😢

We are emotional beings, you and I. Time to mix it up, change your routine, do something different. Ride this wave and be gentle with yourself.
