Those tiger lilies are magnificent, Susan. Thanks for sharing your “life on the farm” memories … so much sweeter than focusing on the insanity swirling around us.
Such beautiful photos! You know, Susan, everyone who moves to Arizona from Missouri calls it "misery", but it sure looks inviting to me. Well, when you travel you take your digital family with you.
Beautiful post and gorgeous photo’s Susan. Thank you so much for sharing with us. My family home was sold off about 30 years ago, torn down by a developer who never bothered to build anything on the land. I’ve driven by occasionally when I visit my home town, every 5 to 10 years or so. Just seeing the lawn I used to play on makes me nostalgic! I’m glad you get to go back and revisit your childhood :)
I’ve always been sentimental! Especially about where I found so much love and happiness-my grandparents were the most kind and generous people. I’ve carefully preserved photos, scrapbooks and other things hoping my daughter or her kids might be interested in it.
Thanks for being here-I really appreciate your comments. This is such a great group!! 🤗
Susan! You are definitely “ speaking” to me today! OMG the pictures are so luscious and beautiful! I have to move sooner than I planned… from a pretty difficult rental situation; the really awesome neighbors that I met this year.. welp are moving too. John made a statement this morning about how he went from no possessions at a time in his life when they were sleeping in a tent outdoors in between jobs years ago … to having to figure out what to do with a house full of “ stuff”. I feel the pull to lighten my possessions CONSIDERABLY! I feel like my stuff owns me vs the other way around! Glad you have the ability and desire to travel and ENJOY life and to be able to be FREE of what is being done to the USA … sorry for long post … you made me happy. ❤️🌅
I’m so glad Shelby. After Tim died I realized that life is too damned short. (He was only 59. Please get your colonoscopy.). While I’m still healthy enough, I feel like I must see other lands and people. And I hear ya about too much stuff! Ugh… our consumption is consuming! 😂. I’m so happy to hear from you! Many thanks!
Well shucks second try at a reply!! thanks for the nudge; I do get the colonoscopy on schedule for sure. My heart always goes out to you for your loss of sweet Tim. ABSOLUTELY while you are healthy and able; most definitely do the thing that makes you so happy! My priority with my health that loves to toss in curve balls continues to be travel to see my family; and as much as possible camp/get outa town a bit etc. Yes the "stuff" is not a houseful or years of anything...except all the pictures and well STUFF. endless work in progress! Thanks for the hello; and you're so welcome! Carrying your post and it's peace full pictures in my heart today for calming and grounding :-)).
I love it! I love the photos too! I'm packing mine in less than a month and heading to Cuernavaca, Mexico. I'm scoping it out for a potential exit someday. It's called "the land of eternal Spring." I love Europe too. Spain or Portugal may be my future home.
Hey there, I love the pictures!! I've been trying to bring my flower garden back to life this year. We've been in Colorado a lot the last five years helping the kiddos. My garden looked like shit.
You are a road warrior for sure. 🚙⛽️ I'm sooooo looking forward to this weekend!!! I love my family, however, I need a fucking break! I can't wait. I feel like I've known you forever. I've never connected with anyone on social media. Never! I think our souls connected in the universe some where. Our weekend will be food, drink, checking out Lake Minnetonka and maybe a little shopping at the cute shops in Excelsior. And the absolute best conversation. 👌 🥰😁💙❤️💙 Talk to ya soon. Break in that new luggage. 😃
The photos are wonderful. Your musings about moving to another country are so rational. If I could, I’d depart these frightening shores. So many countries to choose from. 4 years ago, I would have chosen Ukraine for my fantasy move. Supporting many Ukraine causes, is the best I can do. I love to think I live there, although ‘in absentia.’ You are actually at a pretty enviable time in your live. The horizons beckon. Sending virtual hugs.
Oh, thanks Dan. I have no idea what's next but I do know how lucky I am. I had a great "travel teacher" who gave me wisdom and confidence to go it alone. I plan to see whats out there while I can. Ukraine...I hope to see it one day when the war is over. HUGS right back at you! 🤗🤗 And thanks again!
Our tiger lilies don't look nearly as nice as great-grandmother Mae's do but they bloom every year. Being low on stamina just now (it should be better at the end of the month) I have not been mowing and the weeds along the road are several feet tall and have flowered which seems to please the pollinators. Sully the dawg doesn't let me sleep in although he waited until 7 to get me up on Friday.
Oh yes! The pollinators love the weeds...and they can be so beautiful. Let it go I say! And the heat has been overpowering...so sleep in! I always have more energy in the fall! 🤗
Hmmmm, I’m visualizing some of those gorgeous pictures would make beautiful posts. Welcome home and enjoy it. I wish I could travel as I used to, but my gardens would turn to crap. I’ll have to live vicariously through you.
I'm always honored that you would use anything you see here! ❤️ Your gardens are your sanctuary... I always believed the dirt is important to good mental health!
Those Tiger Lillies! WOW!! You are not alone. Your writings and photos have created a community. No matter where your vagabond heart takes you, we're here to share it with you. Enjoy the solitude. I'm looking forward to your next adventure.😃❤️😘

The pics are great, Susan. They are my short pleasant respite from the Crazies.
Thank you so much! Taking them is my respite from the crazies!
Photos are stunning—love the cobweb! Truly, they’re all beautiful. Let’s catch up when you get back East, k? Love and hugs!
You betcha…. towards the end of August!! I’ll give you a shout! 😘
Enjoy what you love Susan and be safe!
Thank you....glad you're here, Nightmaher! ❤️✌️
Exquisite piece to read and savor. Thank you 🙏

That’s a perfect way to look at it Don. Thank you. I feel so fortunate to have all these friends I’ve never met who mean the world to me.
And yes… it IS misery in a lot of ways. I like to think of the farm as a blue oasis in a Red Sea!!!
🤗
Us folks with the Rockies to protect us from Arctic blasts have heard of the vigor of the Missouri winter.
😂 Oh yes…everything you heard is painfully accurate…here in the NE corner, it can be brutal!
Susan Nieman: You always draw me with miraculous, beautiful, photography, often macrophotography, taken by a camera-person of great artistic gifts.
And you tenderly remember Tim.
You are a real artist and a person with a deeply loving heart.
I miss him so much.
And I truly appreciate your kindness. 🤗

"Is it me? It must be me."
Not a chance. It's just circumstances beyond your control.
And as we get older, we rightfully become more... is picky the right word? No, I don't think so. Something else.
As usual, great pics!
🥹. Thanks. I can’t figure men out. So I’ll just stop trying!!
😹😹❤️
We’re all crazy. Don’t even try to figure us out.
Ha!

DITTO TO ALL THAT! Cannot wait. Rest, food, drink, conversation, shopping...
It will be epic if we don't get arrested. 😂😂😂
👏👏👏👏👏

The honor is mine. This week is dahlia week, but next week is wide open 😀
