(Formerly Music Monday, Charlie gave us a new name. Pretty awesome, huh!) How about some amazing Spanish guitar, a new protest song, Led Zeppelin, and Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga!!
I love your choices. I want you to take a good listen and look at the Mavericks. They recently lost Raul Mallo. He recently lost his life to cancer, and there will not be any more Mavericks. He was the linchpin in that band, an amazing talent and amazing voice and perfect political views :-)
They were the quintessential live band, they loved to play live and they did it constantly.
Awesome playlist today! There are protest songs popping up everywhere. Gee! I wonder why?π€ I love Spanish classical guitar! He basically turned a guitar into an orchestra. What a talent! And Led Zeppelin! That was from their final tour. Tony and Lady Gaga were a match made in heaven. That's from an album of duets that Tony did with a lot of different artists from different genres. Thanks to everyone who jumps in and checks out the Jukebox. Remember, this is an audience participation project. The request line is open! And of course, thanks Susan. She does an amazing job of compilation and production. You're the best, my friend!ππ
We all could use the escape music offers. Whew! And yes pleaseβ¦make your favorites known in the comments and share the column. So much music to enjoy! Love you!!βοΈπ
Those are great selections! Tony Bennett is a treasure for sure. I love listening to him, Glenn Miller, Artie Shawβ¦.my dad would play them constantly! Protest song is one for the record booksβ¦.how sad we have to live through this. Guitar guy-wow! And Zeppelin-yes! Thanks for the great tunes Sharon, Geoff, Charlie and Susan!
I have such wide musical tastes. Love Tony. Love metal. Love classical. Dont love country too much. π€·ββοΈ but I always appreciate excellent musical talent! Thanks Tess. Itβs just such a dismal time. I think we all need the escape! πππ
We do! β¦alsoβ¦.I was obsessed with Dwight Yoakam in late 80βs early 90βs! Went to 3 concerts and met himβ¦have all his cdβsβ¦.hahahahβ¦β¦thatβs my one country talent!
I have the Celebration Day video I wore out the DVD so now I have it on Apple Music that one off show is fantastic. Jimmy Page wanted to continue with more shows but Robert Plant didnβt. But they left us with one awesome final show. The Kashmir performance is so good.
He has I watched him in an interview with Howard Stern a few years back he didnβt seem that interested in talking about the past. He kept bringing up that he had a new album ππ. I think he was more interested in talking about the present.
Thank you for sharing this. Iβm going to try to learn a few measures of it.
You bet!!!ππ»
Crystal sings Broadway tunes all the time β¦ π©·
Thanks for the Nils Lofgren. That song gets in my head and stays there. It says exactly what I need to say.
It was a great suggestion-thank you Sharon!! There will be a lot of protest songs coming out!!πβοΈ

Robert Plant has gone on to do some incredible work, too, hasnβt he? Kashmir will forever be one of the classics!! πππ
He recently released an album.
