I step away from the computer for just awhile and BOOM! Look what you did! 😘 I'm thrilled you like that one. I saw them on my walk back from the gym in my old apartment complex. I got down on the ground and shot up...I loved how the one bloom was trying to eat the stem. 😂 Thank you Lisa! When you get it, would you take a picture of it and email it to me....I'll message you my address! LOVE you. ❤️
Looking at these photos Susan is a such a wonderful diversion. I have the prints I bought and haven’t framed them yet because I’m being a little OCD about the frames I want 😂😂😂😂😂. But I will find some 😊.
Thanks Pete! I’m glad you liked this batch! We need diversion for sure! It helps my mental health to take pictures! ❤️. Can’t wait to see what you decide for framing. I just thrilled my photos are now in Canada!! 😃
Her name is Anna M Scheifele Kammerer. Born in 1859 in Germany, Passed on October 17, 1926. Her husband was Valentin, she had a daughter, Berta. I have struggled to find out about her or the sculpture...it was magnificent. ❤️
Beautiful, colorful flowers always make me feel good. And the old time supper clubs. Have fond memories of going to those kinds of places, extra dry martini and a good dinner with family and friends. All in the past now.
Kathy, YES! I remember going to some supper clubs with my parents when I was small. My dad would give me a taste of his Golden Cadillac and they would order me a Kiddie Cocktail!
Susan, your eye for composition is incredible. The architectural shots—those angles and lines—are absolutely breathtaking. I especially loved the red and black bar; that’s exactly my style. Your photos capture more than just places—they hold presence, depth, and a sense of story. Stunning work!
What beautiful thing to say. Thank you so much. Club Paris in downtown Anchorage was a true gem. Really fabulous food and perfect drinks. I felt like I had gone back in time!💙✌️
Thank you, Susan, for this gift. I just bookmarked your smugmug website. Cannot afford it at this time but the pleasure of viewing is always special. Good luck!
Oh, you’re welcome…I had several people ask me when I started sharing pictures if they were for sale so I found a spot for them. I know everyone is selling something! 🤣
"Every image of a cocktail represents a celebration of life and friendships." Thanks for the images , Susan.
As an alcoholic, the above quote does not apply to me. I celebrate, as do millions around the world, an alcohol free life because alcohol is an allergen that wants to drive us insane and/or do stupid shit!
Always enjoy your photography! I missed your yarn/bean post somehow, but I just saw it and gave it a like. No comment though, because I know nothing about those fine arts, lol.
HA! I know NOTHING about any of it. I'm serious when I say I get nervous when I have to sew a button on something. I have the finesse of a train wreck. 😂😂 Thanks, Charles!
All gorgeous but especially San Xavier … this is my spiritual place in the desert! It isn’t about Catholicism for me, although I was raised in the church. It’s just a magical experience 🪄
Oh wow...thats a helluva compliment from a retired photographer. Tell him I really appreciate that! And I appreciate you being here, Tess. Yes... everytime I read about the orange monster, I feel like I need a shower. 😂😂
I love to work with duotones. I learned them when I did some ad agency (very small) art direction about 300 years ago or so. The client was cheap and didn't want to do a 4 color print job on a brochure, so I did a duotone with a Pantone sep for the film. The cost difference between that and a four color surprised me. I managed to squeeze that through that cheap guy's budget and I've loved them ever since. I use them a lot on my posts.
300 years ago? 😂 I'll have whatever you're having, please. I remember duotones. I had designers in my agency who were far more skilled than I could ever be in that department. They did fabulous things on a budget!!
I lose track of the exact number, but it was a very long time ago 😅. I started out as a designer but did a little copywriting too. It was fun. But yeah, Photoshop has a duotone image mode. It's also fun.

I am truly glad you also had a wonderful time there. That photo is a stunner and the one’s at the beginning. My goodness. They drew me in, completely.
Thanks so much. It was a trip I won't soon forget!!
Fabulous. I needed this as the Dumpster fire "orders" the destruction of our beautiful Presidio Trust in San Francisco.
WHAT! I’m sorry -I’m out of the loop. (Glad you liked the photos though!)

You know, I think they have Methodist services there now...I'll need to check on that. Inside was just as striking as outside. 💙💙💙
Wasn't that architecture gorgeous?
Oh man... I was blown away!
Great photos as usual! I showed them to my husband (retired photographer)…of course he agrees! Thanks for the diversion from you know who! 😊

You have a remarkable eye 👁. Thank you for sharing the beauty of shades of gray.
I'm grateful Morgan! I do love the magic of black and white and how it can change the feeling. Thanks so much!
